Professional Dresses for the Working Woman

Have you guys ever watched the show Suits? There was someone in that show who you might know of (her name is Meghan Markle NBD) and she used to dress amazing in every single episode. The dresses, the pencil skirts, the bags, EVERYTHING. Also, Donna and Jessica Pearson were not too behind on the trendy office wear. I wanted to dress exactly like them when I started working. Currently, I’ve been going to work wearing jeans and a nice top, sometimes a cardigan, and my CalPak backpack to hold my heavy Dell laptop. You would probably think I was going to a college class. Nothing has changed. I’ve been trying to up my game and the easiest place I’m starting is work dresses. While I’m lazy and jeans are always my go-to, I feel like I could pull off a modern classic work dress. Maybe a flowy skirt – we’ll see.

A lot of different websites have specific sections for work wear for women which makes shopping a lot easier (and slightly more dangerous for my bank account).

Some of my favorite stores are Banana Republic, H&M, SheIn, Express, & ASOS. Ooh! Also Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom are also good ones. Below, I’ve linked a few of my favorite top picks for work dresses from my favorite places by price ($20-$100) depending on your budget. Honestly, a good classic work dress is a staple in any closet. I think it’s a good investment. It can be styled up or down in each season with heels, boots, flats etc. Happy Shopping!
