I recently just went to San Francisco to tour UC Berkeley for my brother and we only had 24 hours to experience the city! I’ve been to SF multiple times and every time I visit, I’m blown away by it’s beauty. I look to the left and I see beautiful mountains and I look to the right and I see the beautiful bay. In SF you can literally have the best of both worlds. The downtown area is such a tech hub filled with companies like Google and LinkedIn. I was lowkey freaking out because of how cool that was! I love ATL but the vibe of SF is just unlike any other. It’s much more different than NY and I really want to be able to live in San Francisco at least once in my life. And the food is INCREDIBLE. Since we were only there for 24 hours, we were only able to tour the campus and eat food, but man was it amazing.
FOOD
Breakfast:
For breakfast, we ate at the hotel (thank you Best Western Plus!) but here are some really cool brunch places!
Lunch:
We then took the BART over to Berkeley and explored the campus. For lunch, we went to a nearby cafe called Cafe Milano. It was such a cute little cafe and I ordered the avocado sandwich with chicken on focaccia bread. Their bread was DELICIOUS.
Dinner:
For dinner, we went to a famous Thai restaurant called FarmHouse and the waiter told us it was going to be an hour wait!! IMAGINE. But they were able to seat us immediately because luckily, a reservation cancelled. We ordered their Tom Yum Soup, Pad See You noodles (SPICY), and chicken fried rice. The way they cooked their rice was amazing. And, all the waiters and waitresses were dressed up in authentic Thai costumes. There was also a little Thai band playing music! Seriously one of the top 10 Thai food places I’ve been too.
Tip: They don’t have very large portions of food so splitting is a bit difficult in large parties. AND, MAKE A RESERVATION IN ADVANCE.
Another one of my favorite restaurants in SF is the restaurant Dosa. I went there last time I visited SF and the time before that. It’s a very fancy restaurant that features a unique Dosa style experience. I also tried their apricot Kerala chicken the last time I went (a risk for me because I’m hesitant about new foods) and it was PHENOMENAL.
MY OUTFIT
Fun Fact: The temperature between San Francisco and Berkeley is drastically different. Berkeley is a bit warmer than SF which I very much enjoyed because I got to wear shorts!

ACTIVITIES
In between the meals throughout the day, I would say you should walk through the city and take it all in. SF is different than any other city because it has random hills as you’re walking down the streets. Super cool but killer on your calves! It’s a great workout. If you have time, go to a cool museum (SF has so many), or go to the Fisherman’s Wharf and look at the view. Of course, if you’re there for more than 24 hours there is a lot more to do!
Museums:
Walt Disney Family Museum (on my itinerary for my next SF visit)
San Francisco is one of my favorite cities and I love to visit (I’ll even bear the 5 hour flight)! Honestly, I could see myself living there and who knows, maybe I will in the late future. Let me know what are your SF recommendations!
